Nürburgring 2026 – Consistent Pace and Two Solid Races

The Nürburgring is one of Germany's most historic race tracks and is a classic fixture on the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany calendar. The Nürburgring's sprint circuit combines fast sections with technically demanding turns and hard braking zones—exactly the mix that ensures close battles and razor-thin time gaps in the Porsche 911 Cup.

For Gian Luca Tüccaroglu, the weekend also marked the start of the decisive final stretch of the season. With Races 13 and 14 now completed, 14 of the 16 races on the schedule have been run. After the Nürburgring, only the grand finale at Hockenheim remains.

And even though there weren't any major headlines this time around, the weekend once again highlighted an important development: Gian Luca is consistently competitive over an entire race weekend.

Test Sessions – Good Pace Right from the Start

It was already clear during the three practice sessions on Friday that the foundation for the weekend was solid.

In the first session, Gian Luca finished 12th out of 31, before making a strong impression in the second session by finishing 4th out of 29. He then finished 13th out of 31 in the third session.

In Free Practice as well, he remained within striking distance of the leading pack, finishing 15th out of 32.

This made one thing clear above all else: The car is working, and Gian Luca can keep up with the competition. The various sessions were used to further refine the setup and find the right balance for the two races.

Qualifying – A Good Starting Point for Two Races

As usual, qualifying was a close race.

In the first race on Saturday, Gian Luca qualified in 13th place out of 32. In the second race on Sunday, he secured an even better starting position, finishing 11th out of 32.

This set the stage for a solid start to both races. In particular, starting from 11th place on Sunday offered a good chance to aim straight for the top 10.

Race 1 – Two positions were within reach

Starting from 13th on the grid, Gian Luca took the checkered flag in the first race on Saturday.

His pace was just right, and he was able to work his way further up the field as the race progressed. At one point, he even had two more positions within reach.

Then Gian Luca had to swerve to avoid an incident on the track and, as a result, lost the positions he had already gained.

In the end, he crossed the finish line in 11th place.

A solid race, though he could certainly have done a bit better. Gian Luca himself summed it up perfectly afterward: He was actually within reach of moving up two more positions—but having to swerve cost him that chance.

Race 2 – 13th place in the second race

On Sunday, Gian Luca started the second race from the 11th grid position.

The starting point was once again promising. The goal was clear: to join the battle for the top 10 as quickly as possible and turn that strong starting position into a corresponding result.

During the race, Gian Luca wasn't quite as consistent this time in turning his pace into further gains in position. In the end, he finished in 13th place.

He thus wrapped up the Nürburgring weekend with an 11th-place finish in the first race and a 13th-place finish in the second.

Conclusion – Consistency Is Becoming Increasingly Important

The Nürburgring wasn't a weekend of spectacular comebacks—but it was one that once again underscored the developments of the past few months.

He maintained a strong pace throughout the entire weekend. With a P4 finish in one practice session, P12 and P13 in the other sessions, and two top-15 finishes in the races, Gian Luca delivered a solid and consistent performance.

And it is precisely this consistency that becomes increasingly important in the final stretch of the season.

After the many different experiences during the first few race weekends, the question is no longer whether we have the speed. We do.

The next step is to maintain that strong pace even more consistently in qualifying and thereby further improve our starting position for the races.

After all, the season has shown time and again that, starting from a good position, Gian Luca can make the most of his race pace and move up through the field.

Now it's all about the final

With the Nürburgring race, 14 of the 16 races have been completed. Now only the season finale at the Hockenheimring remains.

Two final races, two final chances to turn this season's progress into strong results.

We're heading in the right direction. We're gaining experience. And we're really looking forward to Hockenheim.
